Maple-Crusted French Toast Sticks with Orange-Yogurt Dipping Sauce

Maple-Crusted French Toast Sticks with Orange-Yogurt Dipping Sauce 
Serves 4 as a snack 

INGREDIENTS

For the French Toast Sticks 
3/4 cup whole milk 
2 large eggs, beaten 
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract   
1/4 tsp. kosher salt 
½ cup maple sugar or granulated sugar  
¼ tsp. cinnamon  
4 slices OMM Whole Wheat Bread, cut into ½-inch strips and set out for 30 min to firm up 
 
For the yogurt dipping sauce  
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt 
1/4 cup maple syrup 
Zest of 1 orange  

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Heat the air fryer to 375f. In a medium bowl, beat the milk, eggs, vanilla and salt. In a small shallow bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon.

2. Gently submerge the bread strips in the egg mixture and then flip to coat in the sugar mixture.

3. Transfer to 2 air fryer baskets and bake the strips for 2 minutes so they start to brown and crisp. Flip, and bake another 2-3 more minutes so the sticks crisp and brown.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt, syrup and orange zest. Transfer the sticks to a platter and serve with the yogurt mixture for dipping.
